Composite Material Types Investigated at MERL

Composite materials configurations tested:

    Materials: Glass/carbon/aramid fibres with thermoset/thermoplastic resins
    Architecture: Unidirectional tapes, woven, braided, chopped strand mat, pultruded, filament wound, RTM, injection moulded
    Sandwich: Honeycomb and foam filled cores


Based on MERL’s experience, MERL can offer consultancy advice on what material, manufacture method and qualification tests are available and recommended for a specific application.
