Instrumentation Software Development

MERL engineers have been developing software to interface with laboratory hardware and analyse data for over 10 years. Custom software is produced using National Instruments Labview™ by fully trained application engineers. The software can be configured for a variety of equipment and test machine control scenarios e.g.


  • Multifunction analog and digital IO boards
  • Motion boards for controlling servo and stepper motors
  • Communication with off-the-shelf instruments (e.g. process controllers)
  • Communication standards including RS485, CAN, Profibus and GPIB

Custom software integrates all of these components into one test system and the GUI is customised for ease of operation.
