| Author of more than 30 scientific and technical publications on structural
adhesives, dynamic and fatigue properties of elastomers. Special research
interests include finite element analysis of large deformation materials,
engineering analysis of elastomeric components, durability and design of
structural adhesive joints, performance evaluation of biomaterials. |

Author of more than 60 scientific and technical publications on elastomers
in engineering. Designer of the first elastomeric base isolators system
for earthquake protection of public buildings in California and the UK.
Formerly Assistant Director of the Malaysian Rubber Producers Research
Association. Special research interests include earthquake engineering
and stress relaxation
of elastomers. Resigned as Director of MERL after the Management buy-out
in 1999, but remains as a scientific consultant and Chairman.
